What this site is

Triplarks publishes travel guides for people who are actually booking something: where to stay, what a meal costs, when the rain comes, whether a neighbourhood is a good idea after dark. We finish one destination completely before starting the next, so a place appears here only when the whole set of guides is done.

What we have not done

We have not been to every place we write about. We are not going to pretend otherwise, because you can usually tell, and because a fabricated anecdote is worth less to you than a price that is correct.

What we do instead is check what we can against primary sources — tourism boards, transport operators, park authorities and the attractions themselves — and say when a guide was last checked. When we have been somewhere ourselves, we say so plainly and we say when.

Why the dates matter

Most travel content has no date on its numbers. A guide written in 2021 will still tell you a dish costs eight dollars, and you will find out it does not when the bill arrives. Prices in the places we cover move with local currency and with the season, sometimes sharply. A number without a date is not information, it is decoration.

So we avoid quoting prices that will be out of date by the time you read them. Where a guide depends on facts that change — fees, timetables, opening days, closures — we note when they were checked and update them when we learn they have changed.

Who writes it

Guides are published under the Triplarks Editorial byline. That is an editorial desk, not an invented persona. We use AI tools to help research and draft guides; the desk decides what goes in, checks the facts a decision depends on against primary sources, and corrects errors when readers report them. No article here is signed by a person who does not exist.

How we pay for it

Through affiliate links. Many guides include booking links and accommodation maps from Stay22, which send you to Booking.com or Agoda. If you book through one of those links, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Every page that carries these links says so at the top.

No hotel or booking site pays to be mentioned, and no business can pay to be included in or left out of a guide. We do not run display advertising.

Corrections
