What this site is
Triplarks publishes travel guides for people who are actually booking something: where to stay, what a meal costs, when the rain comes, whether a neighbourhood is a good idea after dark. We finish one destination completely before starting the next, so a place appears here only when the whole set of guides is done.
What we have not done
We have not been to every place we write about. We are not going to pretend otherwise, because you can usually tell, and because a fabricated anecdote is worth less to you than a price that is correct.
What we do instead is read the primary sources directly — restaurant menus, hotel rate cards, park entry fees, national tourism data, transport timetables — and stamp every number with the day we read it. When we have been somewhere ourselves, we say so plainly and we say when.
Why the dates matter
Most travel content has no date on its numbers. A guide written in 2021 will still tell you a dish costs eight dollars, and you will find out it does not when the bill arrives. Prices in the places we cover move with local currency and with the season, sometimes sharply. A number without a date is not information, it is decoration.
So every price, fee and opening hour on this site carries the date it was checked, and we re-check the whole set every 90 days.
Who writes it
Guides are published under the Triplarks Editorial byline. That is an editorial desk, not an invented persona: research, drafting and fact-checking are done by the same small team, and no article here is signed by a person who does not exist.
How we pay for it
At the moment, we do not. There are no ads and no affiliate links on this site. If that changes, this page will say so before it happens, and any paid relationship will be disclosed on the page it affects.
Corrections
