This page sets out how guides on Triplarks are researched, checked and maintained. It is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one you can hold us to.
Sources we use
- Primary, always preferred. The restaurant’s own menu, the hotel’s own rate card, the park authority’s own fee schedule, the airline’s or ferry operator’s own timetable.
- Official data. National tourism boards, statistics offices, central bank exchange rates, government travel advisories, meteorological services.
- Recognised guides. Where a restaurant or hotel carries a listing that matters — a Michelin entry, a national heritage designation — we cite the awarding body and the year.
We do not build guides from other travel blogs. If a claim appears only in secondary coverage and we cannot trace it to a primary source, it does not go in.
Dating
Every price, fee, opening hour and timetable on this site carries the date it was read. Prices are given in US dollars and, where the difference matters, in local currency, with the exchange rate source named.
Re-checking
Each guide is re-checked on a 90-day cycle. Re-checking means going back to the same primary sources, not skimming the page. When a figure changes we update it and move the date forward; when it has not changed we still move the date forward, because the date records when we looked, not when it last changed.
First-hand experience
Where we have been somewhere, we say so and we say when. Where we have not, we do not write as though we have. You will not find invented meals, invented rooms or invented conversations on this site.
What we do not do
- No AI-written articles published as human reporting.
- No fabricated reviews, testimonials or personal anecdotes.
- No paid placements presented as editorial judgement.
- No author bylines belonging to people who do not exist.
Images
Photographs of specific named businesses are used only with permission or under licence, and are credited. Illustrative images that are not documentary photographs of a named place are labelled as such.
Corrections
Send corrections to hello@triplarks.com. We aim to review within five working days. When we correct a factual error we update the guide, move its checked date forward, and note the change at the foot of the article if the error was material.
Independence
Triplarks currently carries no advertising and no affiliate links. No business has paid, or can pay, to be included in or excluded from a guide. If this changes, the change will be disclosed here and on every page it affects.
